National Doughnut Day - Free donut at Sweethearts Gourmet Donuts

Today is National Doughnut (Donut) Day, always the first Friday in June. The celebration started in 1938 as a fund-raiser for the Chicago Salvation Army.

Anthem's Sweethearts Gourmet Donuts, which offers a fabulous array of these tasty pastries, is offering a free donut with purchase of a dozen. The bakery is located in the Safeway Plaza on W. Anthem Way.

$4.99 dinner deals at Outlets at Anthem

Seven restaurants located in the Outlets at Anthem food court are offering $4.99 dinner deals after 5 p.m. every day of the week. Kids meals are just $2.99 including tax. The offer runs through the end of August.

Participating restaurants are Charley's Grilled Subs, Villa Pizza, Famous Wok, Auntie Anne's Pretzels, Subway, Fresca's Mexican Grill, and Pig-n-Whistle Memphis Ribs & BBQ.

Roberto's Authentic Mexican Food now open in Anthem



Newly opened Roberto's near Fry's in Anthem, AZ is a busy place. You may need to wait longer than usual to get your food, but it's well worth it according to patrons.

You can start your day with a hefty breakfast burrito or pop in for lunch or dinner to enjoy enchiladas, quesadillas, burritos, tostados, tacos, and specialties such as taco salad and Mexican pizza. Beverages include Mexican sodas, specialty drinks, domestic and imported beer and Maria's Fresh Homemade Margaritas.

The restaurant is open Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

31 Cent Scoop Night at Baskin-Robbins


Enjoy 31 Cent Scoop Night at Baskin-Robbins and help honor America’s firefighters. Baskin-Robbins is donating $100,000 to the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) National Junior Firefighter Program.

Starbucks in Anthem assisting Believers of HOPE Foundation effort in April

During the month of April, the Starbucks store located on Daisy Mountain Drive and Gavilan Peak Parkway (near Fry's) is collecting donated items for Believers of HOPE Foundation Wellness Packages. The foundation gives the wellness packages to families while they are staying in the hospital learning to care for their spinal cord injured loved ones.

Items requested include travel-size health and beauty products, bottled water, nutritional snacks, 3-piece rolling luggage set, positive literature, stationery, and gift cards. See the list here.

Baskin-Robbins Anthem Grand Opening

Everyone was happy when Baskin-Robbins in Anthem reopened. Now we get to celebrate at the Grand Opening on Saturday, March 14, from 12 to 4 p.m.

AnthemStuff Business Focus of the Week - Blend Smoothie Cafe

The AnthemStuff Business Focus of the Week, February 1 through 7, is Blend Smoothie Cafe. The spacious store, located in the plaza near Tutor Time on Anthem Way, includes a sitting area, flat-screen TVs, Wi-Fi and computers with free Internet access.

Specialties include fresh fruit blends and smoothies, protein/energy blends, coffee blends, Thai tea, Black tea, Chai tea, and Blue Bell ice cream.

AnthemStuff organizing shopping and dining locally

AnthemStuff.com, which hosts a popular Forum, is encouraging Forum participants to support Anthem businesses through a grassroots "Business Focus of the Week."

Mr. Gyros is the business focus of the week for January 25 through 31. The  restaurant, which offers an array of gyros, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, salads, skewers, plates, and Chicago-style hot dogs and sausage, is located in the Safeway Plaza.

Restaurant delivery service opens in Anthem



After moving to Anthem from New York, where restaurant delivery services are plentiful, Jim Rhodes saw a need and decided to fill it with his new business Mobile Waiters.

The service delivers food to homes and businesses from a variety of Anthem and North Phoenix restaurants, including Affinito's Bistro, Baci Restaurant, Bajio Mexican Grill, Cafe Afify, Chilis, Dara Thai, Ebisu, L&L Hawaiian BBQ, Legend's, Poor Red's, and Times Square Italian Restaurant.

A food guide was recently sent to area homes.

Hours are:

Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
