Just in time for Fourth of July festivities, Q-to-U-BBQ opened its doors July 1. The new Anthem restaurant is owned and operated by David and Karyn Rosol, with their boys Ryan and Zachary assisting.

Award-winning BBQers, the Rosols regularly compete in Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) sanctioned competitions under the nationally ranked team Toys 4 BBQ’N. In 2008 they were recognized as the 4th ranked team in Arizona for competitive barbecue.

Now the family wants to share their passion for slow-smoked barbecue. The eatery features their own recipes and freshly-made sauces and rubs. Appetizers include smoke-fried chicken wings, pulled pork nachos, sweet potato fries, stuffed potato skins, and deep-fried mac and cheese.

Sandwiches from the Smoker are served on a toasted bun, lightly drizzled with homemade Q-to-U-BBQ sauce and sprinkled with Q-to-U-BBQ rub.

If you’re really hungry, go for The Papa Jack, a double dose of your choice of Pulled Pork, Pulled Chicken or Brisket on a jumbo bun, drizzled and sprinkled of course with their specialty sauce and rub. Or try Ribs to Die For, slow-smoked ribs over hickory wood for more than 6 hours.

Other menu items include salads, chicken strips, gourmet hamburger, Hawg Dawg, sampler platters, and homemade bread pudding. They also serve beer.

Job openings are available for cashiers, line cooks, bussers and dishwashers. Apply at the restaurant.

Location (Zone 9)

3434 W. Anthem Way, Suite 146
Anthem, AZ
623-465-7800

DINE OUT JUNE 10-12 AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR THE GULF COAST
America’s premier chefs and restaurants support the Gulf Coast Oil Spill Fund

SAUSALITO, CALIF. (May 27, 2010) – America’s premier chefs and restaurants unite to create Dine Out for the Gulf Coast, benefiting the Gulf Coast Oil Spill Fund. From June 10-12, 2010, participating restaurants throughout the United States will set aside a portion of their profits to help those directly affected by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and to support the long-term restoration of the treasured coast.

Participating restaurants will customize their own Dine Out for the Gulf Coast benefit program. Some restaurants will contribute a percentage of total sales for the day and others will donate the sales from specific menu items, while others will offer specialty cocktails with a dollar-value from sales donated to the fund. Many restaurants will highlight Gulf seafood offerings as a way to support the Gulf Coast fishing industry (commercial and charter fisherman), just declared a national fisheries disaster by Commerce Secretary Gary Locke. The New York Times, May 26, 2010.

The short-term goal of The Gulf Coast Oil Spill Fund, administered by the Greater New Orleans Foundation, is to make emergency grants to nonprofit organizations helping the victims of the oil spill. The long-term goal of the fund is to address the long-term economic, environmental, cultural effects of the disaster, and strengthen coastal communities against future environmental catastrophes by investing in solutions. No administrative fees will be charged to the fund: all funds will be re-granted to the communities in need. More information on the fund may be found at: http://www.gnof.org/gulf-coast-oil-spill-fund/disaster-on-the-gulf-coast.

Restaurants participating in the Dine Out for the Gulf Coast benefit include, but are not limited to: Delfina, Hog Island Oyster Bar, Bottega, Maverick, Incanto, Front Porch, RN74, The Slanted Door, Heavens Dog, Bi-Rite Market, Ozuma, Nombe, Boulette’s Larder, Wexler’s, Contigo and Bix, all located in San Francisco; Eldorado Kitchen, Sonoma,Chez Panisse, Berkeley, Calif.; Tra Vigne, St Helena, Calif.; Bottega, Yountville, Calif.; The Pasta Shop, Oakland, Calif.; Chef Jose Andres’ restaurants; Johnny’s Half Shell, Washington, D.C.; Ciudad, Los Angeles; North Pond, Paul Kahn Restaurants, Chicago; Park Kitchen, Portland, Ore.; Rue Dumaine, Dayton, Ohio; Brennan’s of Houston, Café Annie, Mark’s, Houston.

Diners should contact participating restaurants directly for specific details. All Dine Out for the Gulf Coast special offers are subject to availability and vary by participating restaurant.

Chefs and restaurateurs interested in becoming involved or holding future events to support the Gulf Coast Oil Spill Fund, contact Dine Out for the Gulf Coast organizer: Jimmy Galle, owner of Sausalito, Calif. based Gulfish, at 209.969.3893 or gulfishing@gmail.com.
